Points of interest

Within the Aran Valley there are many places to visit. Some high mountain, others to be reached by a quiet excursion and others that can be reached by car. Of all there are, from the Aparthotel we recommend some that are suitable for all the public.


Old sanctuary located between meadows and forests near the tranquil Noguera Pallaresa river and surrounded by calm. The access is from Beret through an unpaved forest track for 6 km. The track can be done in a 4x4 car but it is advisable to do it on foot (low difficulty).

Plan de Beret

The richness of its pastures has been an attraction for pastoral peoples since prehistory. In these meadows we will find great vacadas and studs of the Pyrenees during the spring and the summer, it is good to observe them when you go with children. In winter this place becomes a part of the ski resort of Baqueira Beret.

Circ de Colomers

Excursion to the peripheral area of ​​the National Park of Aigüestortes, is done on foot and is a must if you come for hiking. Access is from the village of Salardú and you have to reach Banhs de Tredòs (highest spa in Europe). At this point is where the ascent begins to the refuge of Colomers. The circus is of glacial origin and during the tour there are up to 48 lakes (at different distances, some can put their feet to soak and others can be seen in the distance).

Flowery Spaces of Bagergue (Viles Florides)

In 2016 Bagergue obtained the highest distinction in this movement with 4 flowers of Honor. Viles Florides is an initiative of the Confederation of Organic Horticulture of Catalonia (CHOC) that promotes the transformation of corners, towns and cities of Catalonia through the true plant.

Restanca and Estanh Mar

The ascent to the Restanca Refuge starts from the Pònt de Ressec which is accessed from the town of Arties and for 7 km by asphalt forest track. The ascent is made through forests of spruce, beech, oak and black pine. At the end of the excursion is the Estanh de Mar, 1600m long and 500m wide. In the background you can see the imposing massif of Besiberri north of 3015m altitude.

Estanh d'Escunhau

From the village of Betren or Escunhau we enter the valley by a track for 8 km until we reach a border and parking area (the route is well indicated). After leaving the car and crossing a small fence begins the ascent. There is no path marked, but there is no loss, towards the bottom of the Valley. After an hour of climbing, you reach the beautiful lake surrounded by walls of vertical rocks.

Bòsc de Varicauba and Bassa d'Oles

The access is made from the villages of Gausac, Aubert or Es Bòrdes is an easy route and is surrounded by the Bòsc of Varicauba. The Bassa d'Oles is located at 1600m above Vielha and is one of the few ponds with motorized access. Leaving the Bassa is a trail that after passing by some natural ponds leads us to the Rock of Sacosta (maximum altitude of the excursion 1820m). It begins the descent until the cabin of Geles and the Mair of Diu des Nheus. The return is by a forest track until catching a path that returns us to the Bassa d'Oles (route between red and black pines).

Saut deth Pish

Beautiful and impressive waterfall of 35m of unevenness that can be accessed by car along an asphalt forest track. The journey begins in Pònt d'Arròs and for 12km we will observe the water as it runs through valleys and ravines and the impressive beech and spruce forests of the Val de Varradòs. In Artiga de Varradòs the meadows make of amphitheater of the massif of the Maladeta and of the highest peak of the Pyrenees, the Aneto (3404m). The lake, the forest, the refuge and the waterfall seem to be the ideal components of a painting.

Mines Victòria-Bassa d'Arres

From the Plaza Mayor de Arres de Sus you climb the ramp of the "Camin des Prats" leaving the Glèisa de Sant Joan on the right. At the end of the village you will find a fork where you take the road on the left (it crosses several times a forest track and the pasture area). This road joins the itinerary of the Mines Victòria, and well signposted, progressively descending to the area of ​​the farms, where the engine room is enabled as a visitor center. After knowing the area of ​​real estate, it continues ascending by steps of logs following the galleries and mouths of the mine. Several ravines cross and after a forest of spruce you will reach the Bassa d'Arres. Follow the forest trail down to find the path up and back again to Arres de Sus.

Artiga de Lin and Uelhs deth Joeu

From the village of Es Bòrdes there is a paved forest trail that runs for 9 km along the Ribera del Joeu and reaches the natural site of the "Plan dera Artiga". This is the starting point of several hiking trips and from where we can access the birth of the river known as "Uelhs deth Joeu". These waters disappear in the glacier of Aneto and after crossing 4 km underground, they reappear in this wonderful place.


Leaving from the village of Bausen we will begin this circular tour visiting the civil cemetery. Following the Carlac Valley, the path runs through a forest of centenary trees, predominating beech and with the company of large oak and elms. After crossing the river of Carlac twice, we will leave the valley to go to Coret de Pan, the culminating point of our excursion. This place is excellent to admire the massif of Maladeta-Aneto, Baix Aran and the mountains of nearby France.

Val de Toran

One of the smoothest trips that can be done, is suitable for anyone who wants to follow her by car. It runs through one of the most unknown and well-preserved places in the Pyrenees. The route of less than 3 km, part of the Refuge de la Honeria and continue along the valley bottom to begin a climb up a gentle path that reaches the village of Pradets. From this point you have to return to Honeria to close the circuit. Once completed the route, you can take the car to the village of Sant Joan de Toran, equidistant just under 2 km.
